From 1987, when she took part in the Pharaohs Rally for the first time, until 1992 she competed in the motorcycle class in many cross-country rallies and achieved a great deal of success. She first competed on four wheels in 1993 as co-driver to Jean-Louis Schlesser in the UAE Desert Challenge. The 1994 season saw her debut in the Tunisia Rally. From then until 1996 she entered a number of competitions on motorcycles and off-road vehicles and achieved many good results. The following year she started exclusively in four-wheel-drive cars. She began the Dakar-Agades-Dakar Rally with fifth place overall and showed the world what potential she had. In 2001 the time had come. She achieved her greatest victory: first place at the Dakar.
