Summary (1993 - Paris - Dakar)
Mitsubishi was never a manufacturer to rest on its laurels, and
so the Pajeros were entered in the 15th running of the Dakar with the same seriousness
as ever, even though the previous year the Pajero had achieved everything there was to achieve
and had effortlessly prevailed over all others at the epic Paris - Moscow - Beijing rally.
Only 12 weeks after the rally through Russia and China,
the team was ready for action again at the Dakar, which this time ended as usual
in Senegal. One hundred and fifty-two competitors started on this occasion
and set off into the desert to cover more than 9,000 km. The rally was
remembered as one of the fastest ever. Like an unstoppable machine,
Saby forced his way to the front and brought his Pajero home in first
place.
