The Drivers
Racing drivers are the gladiators of the modern age. The comparison to a gladiator describes taking part in the Dakar very aptly. Despite high safety standards, almost every year a driver is killed. Most often it is the less protected motorcycle riders, but car and truck pilots are not immune to fatal accidents either. Here we pay the tribute they deserve to the brave men and women who fought their way through the sands of North Africa in a Pajero.
